10 strange ways to read your fortune – Who has not ever visited a tarot reader or at least read a horoscope? Knowing our future is something we have always wanted to do, although science constantly denies these methods. But there are some people who have gone too far, using really weird fortune-telling techniques.
Needless to say, obviously no one can know the future, but still, what some people have done to try is as curious as it is surprising. Notice…
10. Alectomancy
This technique uses nothing less than a rooster to tell the future. Letters are first placed around a circle, each with a pile of grain. The order in which the rooster eats the grain is what determines the message about your life. It is said that it all started with Emperor Valens, who through divination was able to know a few letters of the name of the one who would overthrow him.
9. Haruspex
Scryers were those who performed divination by observing the entrails of animals. It was widely used by the Romans, but its origin is Etruscan. Even Julius Caesar had a haruspex nearby who predicted his death, although some say he knew about the plot.
8. Parrot Astrology
This type of divination features a parrot that chooses a card from among the many that the fortune teller places on the table. The cards based on Indian cosmologies are what determine the future of the clients. The most famous case is that of a parrot named Mani who guessed the winners of the quarterfinals and semifinals of the Soccer World Cup in 2010.
7. Escatomancy – read your fortune
Oddly enough, cartomancy is nothing new and has to do with reading the droppings, whether they are from the person himself or from an animal. It all started in Egypt, where beetles carrying droppings were observed to predict the future. However, the modern version of cartomancy is carried out by analyzing the feces of the person involved.
6. Asparamancy
Jemima Packington is the one who started this practice that basically consists of reading the fortune in the asparagus. She just throws them up and examines the way they fall on the table. Although Ella Packington predicted some sports results, she has also failed on numerous occasions.
5. Rumpology – read your fortune
Perhaps people who look at butts too much just do it out of vocation. It is just as you hear it, for some, looking at the back of a person can give you a vision of the future. It is done through an analysis of the shape and constitution of the buttocks, which can also be done through photos. In Germany, there is a blind fortune teller who does it through touch, which for him is positive because it ensures the anonymity of his clients.
4. Divination of the nipples
Apparently, the divination of the nipples can be done by analyzing the size and color of each one, which determines personality traits. This practice, which originated in Japan, is obviously nothing more than a joke, but many have believed it and even practiced it.
3. Scarpomancy
Escarpomancy divines the future through a person’s old shoes. Although it sounds quite absurd, they are based on the history of the object, how worn it is, and its shape. It is useful for something? We will never know.
2. Thyromancy – read your fortune
If so many objects can be used, why not use a piece of cheese? The method consists of taking a piece of wormy cheese and putting it on a piece of paper with the names of people we consider to be the perpetrators of a crime or negative action. The worms will perch on the name of the real culprit.
1. Stocommancy – read your fortune
Stocommancy consists of taking a book and opening it to a random page. The first sentence we read is the one that defines our future. Although it is clearly not successful at all, it is the easiest to perform.
Well, what do you think about all these crazy supposed ways of telling fortunes?
